Cleo’s Little Friends

Springtime has comfortably settled in  and the temperature keeps rising.  It’s time to pull back my hair and get out the fun earrings!  I wore this pair practically every day last summer – they just  go so well with sandals and linen!  These exotic drops dangle from 20 gauge handmade sterling silver earwires and measure  two and one half inches in length.  The lidded basket is woven in brick stitch with Delica beads and the benign, tiny serpents are made of polymer clay – I especially like the little guy peeking out of the basket!  A beaded bezel-set vintage Swarovski crystal rivoli adorns the other drop.  These are extremely lightweight and have so much movement! My friend, Pat, cringes whenever I wear these because she’s terrified of snakes, but I know Cleopatra would have loved wearing these earrings!  I have a pair of earrings similar to this available on the Jewelry Kits page of my website.  Check it out if you’d like a fun project to make and the reward of  a pair of exotic pets to dangle from your ears!

  1. Let Cleopatra have the snakes…I’ll take the flowers any day!

  2. Good one Pat! Guess, I’ll have to make more flora earrings!
