Patina Basics…
is the title of Tim McCreight’s latest DVD. It just arrived in my latest order from Cooltools.us and I can’t wait to watch it! Most jewelry artists know about coloring metal with liver of sulfur. However, this DVD shows a wealth of other techniques for adding additional surface colors. Many formulas are concocted from typical household chemicals like ammonia and vinegar. I’ve dabbled with various techniques in a weekend workshop years ago and have forgotten much of what I learned. Use it or lose it! With this “refresher course”, it will be fun to try new formulas and play with color enhancement on the metal surfaces of my designs!
