I started this beading project several months ago…

and I am just getting back to working on it now.  Its tentative title is the “Op Art” cuff, a reminder of the 1970’s art movement that was so the rage at that time.  The colors in the photo don’t really do this piece justice.  The metallic copper and bronze beads are so much more brilliant than what you see here.  The cuff will have a bronze metal clay clasp and embellishment disks enhanced with Swarovski Lochrosen crystals.  I’m having fun following the  beading graph I designed.  I’ve found this project really keeps me alert because I must check the bead colors for every row to keep the design accurate.  I’ve used a rich, warm color palette for this prototype, but I’ll offer the design as a kit in other colorways as well – perhaps colors like those Emilio Pucci used in his fashion designs during that era – rich shades of blue, green, purple, or pink, cranberry and orange.  Utterly fab!

  2. Thanks, Jen! I’m going to make an attempt to finish this soon, but I have my doubts with the holidays upon us. I’m also working on an adaptation of the “Belles Fleurs” bracelet…one without chain maille, but more embellishments. As always, there is so much to do and never enough time!
