It’s finished!
elaborate
adjective |iˈlab(ə)rit|
involving many carefully arranged parts or details; detailed and complicated in design and planning.
This is definitely the most elaborate piece I have ever made! It makes me think of a cuff that a Persian Princess might have worn in a tale from “The Arabian Nights”. Or perhaps, a mermaid, given the abundance of pearls and sea-themed embellishments that adorn it. I’m very pleased with it and can’t wait to start a second cuff – I have another “Cosmic Cabochon” ready to go. Now for the fun of selecting the embellishments and beads to go with it and then merrily stitching away!

Thanks, Jen! It’s such a pleasure when a project is successfully completed and appreciated each time it’s worn.

Thank you! I’m very pleased with it and am ready to start another. The next cuff will have bronze metal clay stars and the Cosmic Cab contains a minuscule puzzle piece…should be a lot of fun!

Barbara….what can I say! I am speechless. I love it. It is gorgeous. I know that it is freeform, but did you have a design in mind when you started? Did you know that you were going to use the ruby/garnet and green colors? This just blows me away…I think that I like it so much becasue it is not “gridlike” …love all of the curvy edges. May I ask how long it is, and did you make it to fit yourself or a standard length. Is there a specific reason you chose to use a clasp instead of a cuff insert? (I have only used an insert myself, being so experienced!!) CLose up, please!!

Thank you, Pam. The cuff is about 6.5 inches in length and fits my wrist perfectly. I like a slide clasp better than hooks….I think it just looks more professional as a finish. The color of beads I chose were chosen from the colors in the cabochon. It was totally worked in free form. I didn’t really have a plan. I started by bezeling the cabochon, than working around the bronze embellishments and filling in with beads of color and size appropriate to fit.

Thanks, Pat! It didn’t take nearly as long to make as some of my other pieces, which rather surprised me.
