Baubles, bangles, guitar wire?

My husband changed his guitar strings last week…beautiful brass strings from the same guitar that singer/songwriter extraordinaire, Steve Spurgin, played during the recording of “Folk Remedies“, the latest release from Blue Night Records.  I like to think there is a bit of good karma attached to these strings, having produced wonderful sounds and made beautiful music at the hands of Steve.  I’ve recycled the strings and transformed them into the bangle you see here.  Accented with polymer clay, bronze metal clay, sterling silver, and gemstone beads, these strings will have a long life and give years of pleasure beyond the music they made possible!

  2. Love it! For all the reasons you mention plus it’s just lovely.

  3. I’ve stashed my own guitar strings to make into some sort of jewellery one day. I love what you’ve done with yours, it looks great!

    • Thank you! There are really a lot of disposable items that can be turned into treasure…I now look at everything that might end up in the trash and try to find another life for it!

  4. You found the perfect way to keep those strings singing! Nice work!
