Treasure hunting…

Wherever I travel, I look for bead shops and one of my favorites is Aloha Beads in Maui. It’s a very tiny shop with limited stock, but I always find something interesting to add to my stash. I couldn’t resist these two tiny resin turtles – they were just too cute to pass up! I was happy to find these 3mm x 7mm dagger beads, which will work well for my Shells and Spines bracelet kit (available in my Etsy shop). And the strand of teardrop Chinese turquoise and semi-precious gemstones will make great additions to pendants. These were rather modest purchases I admit, but the Bead and Button Show is only three months away and I must save for that shopping event!

  1. Hey Barbara, I’m not yet decided about B/B. I’ve gone about 9x. I usually stay at the Best West, however it was bought by Marriott, and their rates were over $150. Loved the convenience of walking to the show. Where do you normally stay?

    • The cost of attending shows has increased all around. B&B’s registration fee has increased, as have other events at the show. There are plenty of hotels in the downtown area close to the show, but the closer and better the hotel, the more you are going to pay. Perhaps you can find a friend with whom to share a room.

  2. mmmm…makes me yearn for some sunshine and seashore!
