My girl is so relieved we’re back home!

We’ve recently returned from a ten-day vacation. It was not as restful as I had hoped it would be. Back home in Illinois, the weather was (and continues to be) horrible. Water lines from the well in our housing development had frozen and several homes were without water (fortunately, not ours!), our cat sitter’s car slid off our road and had to be towed, and Peekaboo had been sick. With all this going on, we just wanted to get back home as fast as we could.  Our flight home had been canceled, but we were fortunate to get a different flight, which put us in Chicago with just time enough to drive three hours home before another sleet/ice storm developed!  All’s well that ends well, and here I am, catching up on mail, email, filling orders, and unpacking boxes of beads that arrived while I was away from my studio.  But priorities come first and much of the above will have to wait, including several new beading projects that I want to design. For the time being, I am spending the majority of time giving love and attention to Peekaboo who will not let me out of her sight!

  1. I can definitely sympathize, Barbara, from next door in Indiana. Glad you’re now home where it’s warm, but get ready because the polar vortex is supposed to make an encore appearance this week.

  2. Hi Barbara, so glad to hear that you are home safe and sound. I’m sure your cat was lost without you. I live in the tropics in Australia so we have the opposite problems. We’ve had a lot of rain but all cleared up now. All the best.

    • Jennifer, a very wet spring is predicted for our area. We’ve had more snow than usual this winter and the Mississippi River is sure to cause some flooding. Fortunately, we live 750 feet above the river so we’re high and dry!
