What’s on my workbench now?
Another pair of earrings is in progress…this time a variation on a Maltese cross known as a cross pattée. This form of the cross appears very early in medieval art. The die-cut sterling silver crosses will be subtly hammer-textured and accented with tiny dots of 18k gold bimetal. Bezel set 4mm carnelian cabochons will embellish the end of each arm and fine silver metal clay Flower Disks will embellish the center of each cross. A chrysocolla briolette will dangle from the bottom of each earring. At least, that’s the plan at the moment. Often a design I have in mind at the beginning of a process morphs into something quite different. I’ll post the results when this project is finished!
