I’ve just finished these Geometric Lantern Drop Earrings. Although they are worked with Delica beads, seed beads could be substituted. I definitely want to play with other options! I have always liked colorful Chinese and Japanese paper lanterns. In fact, when I was in grade school learning cursive my first box of stationary was Eaton’s onion-skin paper in pale yellow with a design of colorful lanterns in this shape dancing across the top of the page! My father loved all things Asian and had paper lanterns strung year-round in the enclosed patio. Lanterns seem so festive and celebratory! As I worked these earrings, I took step-by-step photos and wrote directions. A tutorial and kit with color and design options will follow soon…stay tuned!
