Another Talisman Pendant…
Because a semi-precious gem drusy (a rock cavity lined with a crust of projecting crystals) is held firmly by silver prongs inside a shell of hammered and torch fired bronze, I’ve titled this mixed media piece “Protective Talisman”. I think of the bronze shell as being impenetrable from its backside while securing its precious cargo up front. Dangling at the bottom of the pendant is a small bronze metal clay seashell and a tiny fine silver metal clay shield textured with a symbol for infinity. The pendant is suspended on a sterling silver chain with a bronze and silver toggle clasp closure. I like the organic feel of this pendant and it is my wish that it will give whomever wears it a feeling of confidence and sense of safety and well-being.
